REIKI
This non-invasive, gentle system of natural healing was developed in Japan in the late 19th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. The ability to treat oneself and others is passed on through a series of energetic 'attunements' from teacher to student.
The notion of a universal unseen life force has been spoken about in many ancient traditions and cultures. The Reiki system is one of many ways of tapping into and channeling this "Ki" (-known in other traditions as Chi/Qi, Prana or Orgone), helping us to balance ourselves on all levels - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Though it is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to receive, learn or use it. It will work regardless of your own personal belief systems. Having said this, Dr. Usui's system of Reiki is more than just the channeling or receiving of Ki. In order for it to be a holistic system, he intended that it also include a conscious, active commitment to improving oneself. If you decide to receive Reiki, you are always allowed to continue believing (or not) anything you choose and are encouraged to make your own decisions concerning your spiritual nature and path.
WHAT IS A REIKI SESSION LIKE?
During a Reiki session, the practitioner gently rests their hands on or a few inches above the clients body, often focusing on the primary energy centers, or chakras, and intends for the Reiki to flow through them to the client. (The client typically lays fully clothed on a massage table for the treatment.) What is experienced varies from person to person and even from session to session. In addition to a state of deep relaxation, clients have reported feeling any or a combination of the following:
An overall sense of security, peacefulness and well-being
Physical sensations (i.e. warmth or coolness, tingling, muscle spasms or twitches)
Emotional release
Insight or clarity with regard to personal issues
Spiritual experiences
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF REIKI TREATMENT?
Reiki, above all, promotes deep relaxation. If you are open to healing yourself however, it also has many other benefits. Reiki can help with:
Headaches and migraines
Injuries; post-surgical recovery
Arthritis, fibromyalgia and chronic pain management
Symptoms of illnesses/disorders, such as heart disease, cancer & HIV/AIDS
Negative side-effects of medications and standard medical treatments
and so much more...
I also offer facilitation in the following intuitive/shamanic healing techniques:
"The word "shaman" in the original Tungus language refers to a person who makes journeys to non-ordinary reality in an altered state of consciousness... Shamans are often called "see-ers" (seers), or "people who know" in their tribal languages, because they are involved in a system of knowledge based on firsthand experience. Shamanism is not a belief system. It's based on personal experiments conducted to heal, to get information, or do other things...
"Shamanism is a path of knowledge, not of faith, and that knowledge cannot come from me or anyone else in this reality. To acquire that knowledge, including the knowledge of the reality of the spirits, it is necessary to step through the shaman's doorway and acquire empirical evidence."
~ Michael Harner, anthropologist and founder of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies
DreamWalker Death Facilitator™:
Over the centuries, for a multitude of reasons, the human death process has become marginalized and largely turned into one of fear and indignity. In many of our ancient cultures however, it was customary for a dying person to have someone who acted as a psychopomp - one who guided the departing soul from the earthly dimensions back to the angelic, or celestial realms.
Well, this tradition is returning to our times. The DreamWalker Death Facilitator™ brings dignity and beauty back to the death experience, as well as love and support to the individual in transition, and comfort to their family. Every death is as sacred and natural as every birth. A DreamWalker 'midwifes' the soul back Home.
The DreamWalker will help the client gently release the physical body and escort them to the other side of ' the Veil'. Then, they will safely and joyfully hold their client's energy in the non-physical Earth realms throughout their three-day transition and funeral process. Finally, when they are ready, the DreamWalker will guide the client to the 'Bridge of Flowers', where they are escorted by the highest order of celestial beings on to the final portion of their transition journey.
As a certified DreamWalker Death Facilitator™, I am able to make a connection with a person, and meet them on the other side of our conscious reality - a process parallel in feel to shamanic, or ecstatic journeying:
Before the physical death, this allows me to visit and 'talk' with them while they are asleep or in a coma. During this period of transition and after they have left their physical body, they can call to me when they desire, and my dreams are their experiences. They are often traveling and creating a place for themselves in another reality, which they share with me.
Once they make the physical Death/Transition, I am with them at their funeral. They often are feeling an ecstatic energetic release and freedom from the 3-D body, combined with the powerful emotions of the loved ones left behind. The DreamWalk typically continues for 4-10 days after the Death/Transition. I am there journeying with them daily in the non-physical realms, recording all they do and experience for the family left behind. They often create their journey with their beloved pets at their side, and visit favorite places, their childhood home, and possibly family or friends they meet along the way. I accompany them, reminding them there is much to see and do. There are several 'doorways' (levels of consciousness) to go through, if they choose to make the entire journey. The ultimate is the 'Bridge of Flowers'. At this crossing, I only go half-way across with them, at which point they are greeted by beings of the Angelic Order, their guides, loved ones and their True Self. It is a glorious, emotional, loving celebration of that Soul with no comparison on our earth plane!
I've spent a lot of time here explaining this because I feel it is such important work. After all, who wouldn't want someone to hold their hand as they are crossing over, and then accompany them on their journey Home? A comforting and dignified way of passing, I think - both for the dying one and those closest to them.
